1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how CineGen ("we", "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal data when you use https://cine-gen.com and the CineGen video generation service (the "Service"). It also explains the rights you have over your data and how to exercise them.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Data you give us

• Account data — your name, email address, hashed password (if you register with email), and profile image. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile image from Google.
• Content you submit — the text prompts you write, images or scripts you upload, the videos you generate, and the titles and descriptions you attach to your projects.
• Payment data — your order history, plan, credit balance, and billing email. Card details are entered directly with our payment provider and are not stored by us.
• Communications — the content of any message you send to support@cine-gen.com.

2.2 Data we collect automatically

• Usage data — which features you use, generation counts, credit transactions, timestamps, and error events.
• Device and connection data — IP address, browser type and version, operating system, and approximate location derived from IP.
• Cookies and similar technologies — see section 8.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use personal data to:

• Create and manage your account and authenticate you
• Provide the Service, including submitting your prompts to video generation models and returning the result
• Meter credit usage and keep your balance accurate
• Process payments, prevent fraud, and handle refunds
• Send transactional email such as receipts, password resets, and service notices
• Provide customer support
• Monitor, debug, and improve the Service
• Meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations
• Detect and prevent abuse, including violations of our Terms of Service

Legal bases (where GDPR applies). We rely on performance of a contract (to provide the Service you signed up for), legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, service improvement), consent (marketing email, non-essential cookies), and legal obligation (tax and accounting records).

4. AI Processing and Model Training

To generate a video, your prompt and any input image you provide are transmitted to third-party AI model providers through our routing layer so that the model can produce the output. Those providers process your input in order to return a result to us.

We do not use your prompts, uploaded inputs, or generated videos to train our own models, and we do not permit them to be used for training by our model providers for their own purposes.

6. How Long We Keep Data

When a retention period ends, we delete or irreversibly anonymise the data.

7. Your Data Rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the following rights over your personal data:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction — ask us to correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete. You can also update most account details yourself in your account settings.
• Deletion — ask us to delete your personal data. You can delete individual projects and generated videos from your account at any time.
• Account closure — close your account, which stops processing of your data and triggers deletion as described in section 6.
• Portability — request the data you provided to us in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.
• Objection and restriction — object to processing based on legitimate interests, or ask us to restrict processing.
• Withdraw consent — unsubscribe from marketing email at any time using the link in the email; this does not affect transactional email.
• Non-discrimination — we will not degrade the Service because you exercised a privacy right.

How to exercise these rights

Email support@cine-gen.com from the address associated with your account, stating which right you want to exercise and enough detail for us to identify your data.

Response times. We acknowledge requests within 3 business days and complete them within 30 days. If a request is complex we will tell you before the 30 days are up and explain the extension. We may need to verify your identity before acting, and we may refuse requests that are manifestly unfounded or excessive, or where the law requires us to retain the data.

If you are in the EEA or the UK, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. If you are in Hong Kong, you may contact the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data (PCPD).

8. Cookies and Tracking

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies:

• Strictly necessary — session and authentication cookies that keep you signed in and protect your account. The Service cannot work without them.
• Preference — a cookie that remembers your theme and language choice.
• Analytics — aggregated, privacy-focused measurement of page views and performance through Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights. These do not build advertising profiles.

We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in.

9. International Transfers

We and our providers operate globally, so your data may be processed in countries outside your own, including the United States. Where personal data protected by GDPR is transferred outside the EEA or the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses with our providers.

10. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect personal data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access controls, and signed, time-limited URLs for media files. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Tell us immediately at support@cine-gen.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

11. Children

The Service is intended for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to use it, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected data from a minor, we will delete it. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, contact support@cine-gen.com.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date, and where required we will notify you by email. Continued use of the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
